Lung Foundation Australia supports all aspects of lung health from asthma to cancer to COPD and has a proud history of community education. They are a toll-free patient information and support centre with a lung care nurse. They are a national organisation which supports research, develops educational fact-sheets, trains health professionals, and undertakes community awareness activity and advocacy around Australia.

Asbestosis and Mesothelioma Association of Australia
The Asbestosis and Mesothelioma Association of Australia (AMAA) was established to offer assistance, information and guidance to people affected and/or concerned about asbestos. AMAA supports the Queensland Gold Coast and Hinterland Region, also NSW Tweed and Far North East Areas. As it is largely retirees who are affected by asbestos disease, AMAA was created to offer assistance and advice to the large numbers of people with asbestos disease in this area. AMAA aims to highlight and raise awareness within the community of the dangers posed by asbestos exposure and to minimise the risk of asbestos exposure to future generations.

Cancer Council NSW is a community funded, community-focused cancer charity dedicated to the defeat of cancer. icare provides support for people with a work-related dust disease and their dependants. Dust Diseases Care, also known as the Dust Diseases Authority (DDA), provides financial compensation and support to people who have a NSW work-related dust disease. Along with compensation, they also fund ongoing assistance to support quality of life. This can include mobility aids, personal care, medication and treatment from health professionals, as well as general assistance such as domestic support and respite care for families.

Cancer Support Centre
The Cancer Support Centre at the Sydney Adventist Hospital provides support for all those in the community affected by cancer. Trained staff and volunteers are able to provide assistance to help people regain a sense of control over their lives. The Centre provides a wide range of services to the community, including support groups, education lectures, counselling, resources and information, acupuncture and reflexology services, in a warm, comforting and supportive environment.

Sydney Survivorship Centre
The Sydney Survivorship Centre established in 2013 is a place where cancer survivors have access to a dedicated team of multidisciplinary professionals to support their individual needs following a cancer diagnosis. Asbestos Free Tasmania Foundation
The Asbestos Free Tasmania Foundation – AFTF mission is to promote a safer, healthier Tasmania through assisting to reduce the number of people exposed to asbestos and reducing the incidence of asbestos related disease in the Tasmanian community. The AFTF support former workers who have developed asbestos related diseases, current workers at risk, and the broader community through education, information, referral and advice.
